From 10 to 12 May 2022, the IT-TRANS Conference will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany. For SHOW, exciting things are on the agenda! Wednesday 11 May will see the official launch of the SHOW demo in Karlsruhe, led by project partner FZI (Research Center for Information Technology).

During the event (12.00-14.00), you can experience the future of automated last mile mobility in a combined technical visit of the three projects EVA-Shuttle, Test Area Autonomous Driving Baden-Württemberg and SHOW. The EVA-shuttles demonstrate an innovative public transport service that bridges the first and last mile using electrical, connected and automated shuttle buses, which operate in Weiherfeld-Dammerstock, a suburb of Karlsruhe. Alongside the opening on Wednesday, also on Thursday (14.00 – 16.00) there is the opportunity to take a ride on the automated shuttle.

At a short test drive in the shuttles you can learn about their functionalities and technologies, developed in the EVA-project. At the mobile control center of the TAF-BW the communication and collaboration between automated vehicles with the intelligent infrastructure can be experienced hands-on. On top of it, the project SHOW presents their ongoing work on using the preliminary infrastructure to enable a surveillance of the automated shuttle fleet. All in all visitors get a preview on the upcoming shuttle service of the project SHOW. Would you like to take part in this Technical Visit? Please use your IT-TRANS Talque App.

Another place where you can spot SHOW is during the Parallel Session ‘Automated shared mobility: Getting our cities ready’ (May 11, 2022, 14:00 – 15:00). The session will see the exchange of information and learnings and discuss the latest trends in automated mobility, also touching upon the learnings of the SHOW project. This Plenary Session will welcome to the stage Alexander Viehl (FZI Research Center for Information Technology), Tanja Wiesenthal (ioki) and be moderated by SHOW Coordinator Henriette Cornet (UITP).

Speakers will explore how AVs can drastically reduce car ownership, regain essential urban space, and result in better mobility for all.
